Q: Your work often combines ambient and electronic styles to create a unique sound. What is your approach to fusing these genres, and how do you ensure each track maintains its distinctiveness?
A: "It just naturally comes together because of the diverse music I listen to and create. I love the emotion that ambient music adds to electronic tracks, I want my music to have a feeling rather than just a sound. Since the beginning of my career, I’ve been influenced by a wide range of genres; house, techno, and bass. Being a melting pot of these genres, my fusion of ambient and electronic styles occurs organically, without overthinking the process."
Q: As an emerging talent in the electronic music scene, what have been some of the key challenges you've faced, and how have you overcome them?
A: "One of the biggest challenges has been staying consistent. As a new artist, it's crucial to constantly release music, create content, and maintain visibility. I make sure to be in the studio and create music every day. Even if nothing comes from the session, I’m always learning new techniques and improving. I also regularly brainstorm social media ideas with my team to try to find new ways to make engaging content and stay consistent. Keeping up with everything can be overwhelming, especially when you factor in touring, traveling, and constantly creating. However, I’m grateful for the position I’m in and love the challenge it brings!"
Q: You often incorporate both classical and modern electronic elements in your tracks. How do you balance these influences to maintain a cohesive sound?
A: "I really don’t think too much about it, when I'm in the studio and like something I'll just run with it and let my instincts guide me. Growing up, I listened to a wide variety of music, which has definitely influenced me and helped me blend these elements together without overthinking it too much. I love to incorporate some old-school samples and add my own little modern twist to it."
Q: Live performances can be transformative for both the artist and the audience. Can you describe your process for translating your studio work into a live setting?
A: "While creating music, I always visualize how it will perform live and how the audience will feel the energy. After testing it out live, I make any necessary adjustments. I write and sing all my vocals, and performing them live helps me connect with the crowd, creating a unique and engaging experience! As mentioned before, I love working with different genres which helps me guide the audience on a journey throughout my set."
Q: Looking ahead, are there any new directions or innovations you're excited to explore in your upcoming projects?
A: "As an artist, I'm always evolving and finding new inspirations. While AIMMIA will continue focusing on house and techno, I'm excited to venture into drum and bass. I love incorporating drum and bass into my sets and have been testing some original tracks during my performances."
